Sassen provokes us into reflecting on the realistic character of her photographs, which emphasize the spectacular and poetic aspect of her work. Viviane Sassen, from the Umbra series. Shot in the Namibian desert.

The human figure, the body and its pose are the primary classic themes of her work. But in the game between realism and abstraction, Viviane confuses our perception by leaving open messages, which thus become modern.
