Peggy Franck | Reintroducing the familiar

Tomorrow will be the opening night of Art Brussels, running through the weekend till Monday. Among the works to discover are the sculptural photographs by Dutch artist Peggy Franck. Reintroducing the familiar, the title of one of her works is aswell a fitting description of her visual strategy.

This multilayered work shifts between installation and painting with insightful and engaging results. Zoë Gray

She is known for the photographs of abstract still lifes that are juxtaposing everyday found objects with the surrounding space. She creates careful  compositions  of abstract shapes and recognizable materials that play with the perception of space in two and three dimensions.
